Louis A. Piscitelli is the owner of L.A. Custom Woodwork. I grew up
in the West End section of Long Branch, NJ and started the business
in Ocean Twp., NJ. While doing quality home renovations and finish
carpentry with my grandfather William Lykes, I became interested in
the fine art of woodworking. Working along side of such a master
craftsman enlightened my creative side.
I used my many years of drafting and artistic abilities to start
creating exquisite wooden boxes. I decided upon this expression
after seeing some of the fascinating boxes created by Po Shun Leong.
They wouldn’t require much space or material to build but would
allow me to hone my woodworking skills.
While doing home renovations for a famous local artist, I was
commissioned to build many built-in bookcases for her. I was eager
to fabricate a project of this size, but I didn’t have much room to
work in, just a single car garage. That was the beginning of many
projects over the next few years.
In August of 2003 LACW moved to Melbourne, FL. The showroom/shop is
1800-sq. ft., with areas for milling, shaping and assembly. There
also is a self-enclosed finishing room. In this type of environment
we can handle the largest jobs while maintaining the highest quality
product. LACW can create a design solution that meets the needs of
the most discriminating clients. LACW specializes in custom orders;
therefore, each piece we create has the flavor of individuality. We
welcome the opportunity to bid on any project regardless of size and
complexity. Please
contact us if you
would like to visit the showroom/shop or if you have any questions.
